All the regular characters are here (or mentioned), including the famous Mystic Knights of the Sea. The only film appearance of radio's long-running characters. BTW, this title should not be confused with the Amos and Andy of the television series, as these are the White Amos and Andy characters. Still, the laughs are there if you keep an open mind.

Here in New York, we pride ourselves on having access to some of the world’s most talented, creative, and professionally accomplished actors, directors and writers of theatre. In the eyes of many, Broadway, to date, has been the crowning jewel and last stop for an aspiring thespian’s efforts to achieve success and recognition.

Hence, if one is seeking said success and recognition in this most competitive vocation and especially here in the “Big Apple”, one must come equipped with the writing skills of Shakespeare, the acting talents of a Barrymore, and the directorial excellence of a Bob Fosse. Lacking any of the above, good, steady paying theater gigs, in this town, will be difficult to find.

Well, we say those second and third tier Broadway bound aspirants should save their money, time and energy for a better and far more profitable public option to Broadway theatre. We offer Washington, D.C. as a more attractive alternate venue to ply their second banana talents.

If one is willing to compromise their ethics, principles and moral obligations to their fellow man for money and power, then only the sky is the limit to the success they can attain in Washington. And let’s face it, many actors have been willing to stop at nothing to get the part they desire, so a simple change of venue could be just the ticket they need.

Many are so blinded by the bright lights of Broadway, they fail to appreciate the advantages of a theatrical career in Congress. They will get to act before a national/international audience daily and fly all over the world at the taxpayers’ expense, all the while throwing crumbs to their adoring fans (aka “constituents“).

For those who would doubt my premise, I ask you to review the staging of this week’s performance of Congress’ acting elite - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and minority speaker John Boehner. Washington’s Political Theater put on a spectacular show as the debate raged over the healthcare reform bill in the House of Representatives.

Prominently featured, at the close of this act, was Ms. Pelosi, stepping up to a bank of microphones with cameras at the ready, as she announced to throngs of reporters and supporters that the House’s Healthcare bill, replete with a Public Insurance Option, guaranteed coverage for most Americans. Of course, she was flanked by the usual blah, blah, blah and blather, blather, blather from the customary crowd of cheesing Cheshire cats, each taking an opportunity to overstate the already overstated.

Knowing fully that what she and her fellow Democrat Congressional cast members had promised was a far cry from the end product produced late Saturday night, Ms. Pelosi flashed her polished dentures with confidence and convincingly told her audience she had delivered what America really needed.

This sterling performance was delivered by the same staunch supporter of a women’s right to choose who signed off on a bill that would deny poor women access to an abortion on any government backed plan. Apparently, Nancy’s years of hamming for the cameras allowed her to harness her acting skills such that she could use them with the efficiency of a battery powered strap-on to screw women like a man. (Okay, so they’ll only appreciate that one in San Francisco.)

Not to be outdone, the Republican’s John “limp boner” Boehner appeared on cue, hitting his marks like a seasoned pro, starring in his own press conference. With his perfectly coiffed hair and Hollywood tan, he predictably denounced his Democrat rival’s success with the usual dog-eared script of tax and spend and big government takeover of healthcare. Unfortunately, Mr. Boehner was clearly the lesser of the two performers. Having been saddled with little more than the usual Republican key word laced presentations, he smartly took advantage of the Washington prop department, hoisting the 1,990 plus paged healthcare bill to aid in his all too transparent and disingenuous rant.

Yes, Pelosi and Boehner have seemingly reached the pinnacle of acting prowess that will go down in the annals of great performances given beyond Manhattan. However, neither could have achieved such greatness without the support of the other 533 Congressional cast members. This Washington production company has unbelievably demonstrated, for decades, that they are capable of rivaling anything Broadway, or even Hollywood, can produce by way of deception.

Much to our surprise and dismay, even Barack Obama made a cameo appearance, playing the role of the eleventh hour Commander-in- Cheer. Knute Rockne would have been proud watching the president come to Capital Hill for a pep talk to the Congressional cast before sending them on stage to give the performances of their lives.

Unfortunately for the American people, a major subplot of this continuing saga is that none of the characters will understand, or even acknowledge, that the public is demanding punitive damages for the waste, fraud, abuse and corruption of the healthcare industrial complex, aided by Congress.

Since the scripting of this episode will ignore the obvious way of delivering those justly deserved punitive damages in the form of a Single Payer System or a robust Public Insurance Option, this drama is being slickly written to show all players winning. The Democrats can boast to their base of their landmark accomplishment, while the Republicans can bitch to their base in preparation for the opening of Washington’s 2010 theater season. And the public is left with the usual cliffhanger ending. In the meantime, the House players can fade behind the curtain while the Senate takes center stage.

To the writer/director’s credit (whomever they are), President Obama is using his God given powers of persuasion to play his role of pragmatist to the hilt. His presence was held off stage for the duration of the town hall fight scenes, so his character could cleverly preserve its image of the cool, new style politician, keeping his promises and getting things done. Whether you are on the Right, the Left or straight down the middle politically in this country, you must admit, the Washington D.C. House Players put on one hell of a show.

But, before the fresh faces of tomorrow’s breed of greed go rushing off to our nation’s capital for their shot at unbridled wealth and ego feeding attention, they must pay their dues at the local level.

Local political venues, such as city councils and or state legislatures, would be comparable to community and dinner theatre or perhaps off Broadway. Here they must hone their skills at shaking the shaky hands of seniors while easing contributions from their wallets with a smile. They must be willing to kiss ugly babies without wincing, as well as developing a taste for cutting the throat of anyone with guts enough to challenge them.

When these very important skills are adequately developed and consistently demonstrated, while being enhanced and nurtured by equally unscrupulous campaign managers, teams of political advisors and assorted flunkies, then they should be well on their way to landing a choice role and selfishly-fulfilling career as a Unites States public servant.

With all that Washington D.C. has to offer, we invite anyone with an insatiable desire to perform or even just a particular penchant for lying to consider this great public option. But don’t be surprised if the current stable of Washington D.C. actors try to discourage you as they will undoubtedly fear the competition.

Lastly, for those who think this season was really thrilling and entertaining, just wait for the show they have planned for 2010. We have been tipped off that Congress finally gets around to Wall Street financial reform and consumer protection legislation. Wow, we can’t wait to see how they pull that off.

Alanna Blair hails from Memphis, Tennessee and recently converted to New York after living in Los Angeles. Her last play was She do the police in different voices., a solo performance adaptation of The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot which took her to the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She’s also working on the feature film Frogtown (frogtownmovie.net). Her BFA from California Institute of the Arts’ School of Theater ensures that she will be broke forever. She sends a crapload of of love and admiration to her amazing Manson Family, and to EndTimes for making this happen.

Alexander Dunbar

Alexander Dunbar- is a New Yorker with his heart in Texas, his bed in Brooklyn, and his left hand petting one of his cats. He started his training in Texas, where he developed a penchant and skill for stage combat (and hanging from chandeliers, in particular). Following his NYC relocation and graduation from AMDA in 2004, Alex has stayed busy co-starring with Chinese-food loving felines, working with our nations elderly, to Dreaming in the Mid Summer Night. He’s thrilled to be back on stage, and for the ongoing chance to prove to his family they didn’t waste their time or money. Hehehe.

Cheri Paige Fogleman

Cheri Paige Fogleman is amazed. Who knew a little air guitar and a rendition of Proud Mary at the Manson audition would lead to this? Super happy. Cheri is a graduate of UNC School of the Arts and of the Maggie Flanigan Studio and has been seen acting on lots of stages in NY and lots of fun indie films AND dancing with many modern dance companies (including Shen Wei Dance Arts, and Aynsley Vandenbrouche Movement Group). Heather Lee Harper

Heather Lee Harper is ecstatic to be a part of Manson the Musical. This is her third show with EndTimes, but the first as a full fledged company member! Favorite Regional credits: Touch (Kathleen), Dial M for Murder (Margot), The Tempest (Miranda), A Clockwork Orange (Ensemble of 10), and Wait Until Dark (Susy). Here in NYC, Ms. Harper is a founding member of The Active Theater Company. A graduate from Arizona State University (BA Theatre Arts) and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Los Angeles, Heather is a proud member of the EMC Program.

Tiffany Herrioett

(Choreographer)

Born in South Jamaica, Queens, Tiffany Herrioett began drug dealing at the age of twelve during the 1980s crack epidemic. After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, she was shot at and struck by nine bullets during an incident in 2000. Oh, wait— that‘s 50 cent. Tiffany Herrioett currently teaches tap and ballet to little people (aka children) at Millennium Dance in Harlem, NY. With over a decade of training, she has previously performed at Madison Square Garden as a member of the St. John’s University Dance Team, and has performed as part of Walt Disney Magic Music Days. This is her first time as sole choreographer for a production. She would like to thank Russell for the opportunity, as well as her mom, who supported her by paying “1 million dollars” to facilitate her rigorous training. She would also like to thank the cast for their amazing hard work, and her very significant other, Colin, for his Ghandi-esque patience during the rehearsal process.

Candace Janee

(Linda Kasabian)

Candace first found her passion for the stage in California where her favorite roles included Mary Warren in “The Crucible”, Corie Bratter in “Barefoot in the Park” and The Evil Fairy in “Sleeping Beauty”. She moved to New York to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she graduated in 2007. This is her second show with EndTimes after her highly acclaimed turn as the bloody, bruised and pregnant Lily in ‘The Godling’. She would like to thank EndTimes for this unique and exciting opportunity, and her family and friends for all their love and support!

Dana Mazzenga

Dana just recieved her MFA from the New School for Drama last spring! She is pleased that her $100,000 degree has led her to such a well-meaning, non-violent, sweet character. Seriously though – thank you to Russ, Serena, Tiff, Mel, the cast and all the other EndTimes members for making a gal feel so at home so quickly- this is a truly loveable and super creative ‘family’. Dana can also currently be seen playing Elizabeth in Radiotheatre’s electrifying production of ‘Frankenstein’ at The Kraine Theatre. And finally – RIP Sexy Sadie: “you broke the rules, you laid it down for all to see”. Sigh.

Serena Ebony Miller

Serena began her musical education in church as a child and could not have then foreseen her participation in “Manson the Musical.” She has been playing cello for longer than she cares to confess and enjoys writing songs and arranging music for theater. Serena has worked with EndTimes Productions as an actress, a musician, and formerly a cleaner of bathrooms. Love and thanks to an amazing cast and band for their patience and talent, Russ and Jeremy for the opportunity, the better side of the Miller family, Paul, and St. Anthony and St. Jude for prayers answered.

Marek Sapieyevski

Marek Sapieyevski performs regularly as an actor, singer, and musician throughout NYC and beyond. His most recent theatrical appearances have been with Theatre Rats, Manhattan Children’s Theatre, Planet Connections Festivity, and in the award winning End Times Production of ‘The Godling’ at San Francisco Fringe Festival. As a musician, Marek plays keyboards for The Crevulators, and banjo for internationally touring mariachi/bluegrass/Irish fusion group Rana Santacruz. Meghan Sinclair

Meghan Sinclair is an American actor, television host, and comedienne. She is the first cixelsyd person to earn a role in a musical based on one of America’s most appalling true crimes. Even if it is a small role, and they only let her do it on off days. The miraculous story of how Sinclair’s teacher, , broke through the isolation imposed by Meghan’s near complete lack of language, allowing the girl to blossom as she learned to communicate, has become known worldwide through the dramatic depictions of the hit tv show, .

Kevin Paul Smith

Kevin Paul Smith is making his debut with EndTimes Productions and could not imagine a better show to do so with. Sex, murder, camp and tap shoes: what more you could want? Kevin could most recently be seen in several Shotgun Theatre Festivals in New York as well as the 1st Guard (Jonas) in Manhattan Rep.’s production of Antigone. He is excited to be dancing again since his last ventures into the world of the dance as Chuck in Footloose and Danny in Grease. Leal Vona

(Leno LaBianca, Vincent Bugliosi)

Leal is an American martial artist and actor who is best known for martial arts and action plays. His most successful plays include Central Park, Dead Lawyers, and appearances in numerous Met Opera productions. Due to his physique and his Belgian background, he is sometimes known as “The Muscles from Brussels.” After studying martial arts intensively from the age of ten, Vona achieved national success in Belgium as a martial artist and bodybuilder, earning the “Mr. Belgium” bodybuilding title. He emigrated to the United States in 2006 to pursue a career in theatre, and achieved breakout success withNaked Holidays 2008, based on the alleged true story of a Jew named Murray Baum. He attained subsequent box office success with his direction of last year’s Serling Award winner for Best Dramatic Script,Kitchen Scenes with Nightmares, which grossed over $100 million according to his own figures and became his most financially successful play. Amongst his performance tools are the liberal use of scissor kicks and broken English.

Russell Dobular

(Director)

Russell Dobular is a New York native, born and raised in Flushing, Queens. His plays have been presented in New York, and Los Angeles, and he has directed several dozen productions, including the hit comedies “Angel Shit”, and “Everybody Dies”. Most recently, his production of “The Godling” took Best Director, and Best Ensemble honors at the the 2009 San Francisco Fringe Festival. Mr. Dobular also served as the founding Artistic Director of the Horse Trade Theater Group, from 1997-2000. He would like to thank the amazing cast and crew of “Manson the Musical,” for their dedication, and for making every day of the process a joy.

Christina Hurtado

(Stage Manager)

Christina Hurtado is freelance dramaturg, stage manager and the Managing Director for EndTimes Productions. She’s worked in off-Broadway, off-off-Broadway, regional and international venues, and is now on IMDB as a wardrobe supervisor.

Jeremy Pape

(Sound Design)

Jeremy Pape holds a BFA in acting from Philadelphia’s University of the Arts. He is the associate artistic director and technical director of EndTimes Productions, a Manhattan based production company, and is currently enrolled in the New School’s MFA directing program (2012). Recent credits include directing Hope Rd. and Knuckleball, which won best director, best drama and best overall production at the San Francisco Fringe in 2008. In addition, he recently acted as assistant director for Hamlet with the Brooklyn Stage Company and performed design work for the Ammoralists’ critically acclaimed Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side at PS-122 and White Rabbit’s award winning Meredith’s Ring (best one-act or short play, Planet Connections, ’09).

James Neggie

(Executive Producer)

Hails from Queens where his strict Catholic upbringing left him with a morbid obsession with the idea of eternal damnation. To sublimate this trauma James sought solace in comedy, music, and gourmet food. To this end he is a proud graduate of the conservatory program of the Second City; he is an accomplished Highland Bagpiper; and he suffers from a pronounced chafing problem.

Performance Space 122 is pleased to announce the premiere of a new program titled "Conversations with Culture," a series of public panel discussions engaging non-performing arts community members in a dialogue about the art, politics, and life that happens on our stages. These discussions endeavor to reinsert performance into the cultural, economic, and environmental debates coursing through contemporary society, from which it has recently largely been excluded.

On October 20th, PS122 will inaugurate this series with the panel discussion "Contemporary Performance and God," presented in advance of Morgan Thorson's run of Heaven, a new ensemble work exploring emotional and physical manifestations of ecstatic perfection, gleaning forms and concepts from religious practices as strategies for creating the same state through dance. The discussion aims to trigger wider cross-community debates about the role and ramifications of contemporary performance as critique of, complement to, and replacement for other religious practices.

It’s New York City, 1955. The Brooklyn Dodgers are about to square off with the Yankees in a World Series that will net “dem bums” their first title in fifty-five years. So, T.V.’s most popular variety program, ‘Top of the Heap,’ is headed to Brooklyn for a live, remote broadcast tied into the Series. A struggling pair of nightclub comics see this as a chance to bluff their way out of the dives where they perform and into television. But, they soon discover just how high a price they’ll have to pay.

Top of the Heap features a timeless jazz-inflected score with music by Jeffrey Lodin and book and lyrics by William Squier. The Stamford Advocate called Top of the Heap,

“A gritty musical that takes a look at the darker side of showbiz.”

This looks like a winner in the making!

20 years ago this November 9, the Berlin Wall was opened, admitting a flood of East Germans into the previously verboten West. To mark the occasion Trav S.D. and his company Mountebanks present Kitsch, or Two for the Price of One, a Brecht-flavored retelling of The Comedy of Errors that brings Western-style excess to Shakespeare’s comedy by doubling the number of pairs of twins in the plot to four. Separated at birth with the Allied Invasion of Berlin in 1945, half are raised in the Communist sector only to be unwittingly reunited with their brothers 44 years later when the Wall comes down. The result is mass confusion!

Kitsch was written by Trav S.D. on MacDowell, and Edward F. Albee Fellowships, on a grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. The play also contains nine original songs by Trav S.D.

Kitsch is directed by Ian W. Hill of Gemini Collisionworks (ably assisted by Berrit Johnson) and features Trav S.D., Kate Valentine (a.k.a “Miss Astrid” from the long-running VaVa Voom Room), Audrey Crabtree (The Bouffon Glass Menajoree), as well as Gyda Arber, Aaron Baker, Tom Bibla, Lily Burd, Betsy Head, William Kahn, John Kelly, Gavin Starr Kendall, Pete Macnamara, Josh Mertz, Brian Mott, Roger Nasser, Avery Pearson, Michele Schlossberg, Esther Silberstein, Jillian Tully (Nov. 14 only) and Michael Whitney. Set design is by David Brune; costumes by Karen Flood.

Note: the November 22 performance will be followed by a special program moderated by Trav S.D., presented at no extra charge: a debate entitled “Is the East Better Off?” Arguing the pro-capitalism side will be Joseph Dobrian, The Libertarian Party’s 2009 candidate for Mayor of New York City; arguing for the left, journalist Doug Henwood (host of WBAI’s Behind the News, and editor/publisher of the Left Business Observer).

He has also studied improv at iO (Improv Olympic) in Chicago, and holds a B.F.A. in Theater Arts from Long Island University – C.W. Post. Currently, he improvises in The Dream NYC at The PIT. Previously, he has improvised with Bad Luck Rising and The Best of… Fried & Mandeville. He is also a freelance writer and a regular contributor on Guidespot.com. Carlos Andrés Gómez has been dubbed "a leading voice at the forefront of the oral poetry movement" (The Punch). Winner of the 2009 Artist of the Year Award at the Promoting Outstanding Writers Awards, Carlos is a Russell Simmons’ HBO Def Poet (voted “Favorite Poet” of his episode by viewers) and the 2006 Toronto International Poetry Slam Champion. He co-stars in Spike Lee's number one box office smash hit film, "INSIDE MAN" (Universal Pictures) – selected as one of AFI's 10 Most Outstanding Motion Pictures of 2006 – with his breakout lead role as “Steve” alongside Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, and Clive Owen. Called "a must-see" and given five out of five stars by Hairline Magazine in England, Carlos was formerly a social worker and a public school teacher in New York City. He has performed at over 100 colleges and universities and toured across North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa. He is a two-time National Poetry Slam Finalist – once as a member of the renowned Nuyorican Poets Café's Slam Team that finished 2nd, and later with the NYC/louderARTS Slam Team that finished 3rd in the U.S.

Most recently, he collaborated with Tony Award-winning tap dance legend Savion Glover at The Town Hall on Broadway. William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar takes place in a world of male power and dominance. The Rome of Shakespeare’s play is an arena of male competition, in which the female characters attempt to avert tragedy but find themselves powerless to do so. The Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company takes on this testosterone-filled play with an entirely female cast, exploring the performance of gender and challenging preconceptions of male and female. Alisha Huber directs a cast featuring Pigeon Creek actors Heather Folkvord as Brutus, Katherine Mayberry as Cassius, and Kate Bode as Caesar.

This workshop of THE CONSEQUENCES is the first collaboration between terraNOVA Collective and the Pace Musical Theater Program, integrating terraNOVA’s method of script development with Pace’s interest in developing and exposing students to new work. The piece will be directed by the director of Pace’s Musical Theater Program, Amy Rogers, and features Emily Stockdale and Ari Fife, both part of the Pace Program. Jaimie Mayer, Managing Director of terraNOVA Collective, produces.

THE CONSEQUENCES will play as part of the undergroundzero festival at Performance Space 122 (150 First Avenue at East 9th Street), July 22 at 7pm, July 23 at 9pm, July 24 at 7pm, July 25 at 9pm, and July 26 at 2pm. Tickets ($15) are available online at www.ps122.org or by calling 212-352-3101.

KYLE JARROW is a writer and musician based in New York City. He writes for the stage as well as film and television, and he plays in the bands Super Mirage and The Fabulous Entourage. He won an OBIE Award for his Off-Broadway hit A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant, which has subsequently been produced all over the country. Kyle's play Armless won the Overall Excellence Award at the New York International Fringe Festival. Other plays include Love Kills, Trigger, President Harding is a Rock Star, Rip Me Open (co-writer), Gorilla Man, Big Money (with Nathan Leigh), Hostage Song (with Clay McLeod Chapman) and Whisper House (with Duncan Sheik). Kyle's playwriting work encompasses both music theater and straight plays, and has been presented at New York Theatre Workshop, Performance Space 122, The John Houseman Theatre, American Repertory Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Abron Arts Center, HERE Arts Center, Boston Theatre Works, New Dramatists, The Flea, The Hangar Theatre, and Dad's Garage in Atlanta among others. Kyle was a 2005-2006 Dramatists Guild Fellow. He was nominated for a 2004 Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Award and a 2004 Backstage West Garland Award, and was runner-up for the 2002 Princess Grace Playwriting Award. NATHAN LEIGH is a composer, sound designer, musical director, and arranger. His theater credits include work at Berkshire Theatre Festival, ART, Speakeasy Stage Company, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, The Ohio Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Theatre Row, and PS 122. He has been the sound designer and composer in residence for Boston Theatre Works from 06 - 08, and for the Brown/Trinity Consortium for the 07 - 08 season. Nathan is currently the resident designer and composer for Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre and The Debate Society. He has also created film scores and produced several records through his own label, Keroscene Records. Nathan plays guitar and sings in the rock bands A Thousand Ships and Super Mirage. He has collaborated with Jarrow on the scores for Big Money and the forthcoming The Consequences. Gothamist awarded him Best Sound Designer of 2007.

AMY ROGERS is the Director of the BFA Musical Theatre Program at Pace University. Amy’s professional/academic directing credits include: The original workshops of Darling (Ryan Scott Oliver/B.T Rybeck, COLLEGE: The Musical (Fornarola, Elmgreen), the R&B Musical Warm, But I’m a Cheerleader (conceptual director), Hoods and Hoofers (Rob Lindsay Nassif) and LUCK!(Brad Ross and Mark Waldrop). Full productions include; Ragtime, Carousel, Wild Party (Lippa), The Most Happy Fella, Flora The Red Menace, Little Women, My Name is Alice, Urinetown, Violet, Pippin, Into The Woods, Funny Girl, and A Grand Night for Singing. Amy has assisted critically acclaimed director Lonny Price on the Pre-Broadway workshop of 110 in The Shade starring Audra McDonald, the Emmy Award-winning Passion for Live at Lincoln Center on PBS (Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Michael Cerveris); Candide with the New York Philharmonic (Patti LuPone, Kristin Chenoweth); Anyone Can Whistle at the Ravinia Festival, and both Kismet (Brian Stokes Mitchell, Marin Mazzie) and Can-Can with Encores! at City Center.

PACE MUSICAL THEATER PROGRAM, a part of the Performing Arts Department at Pace University, began with six majors in 2002, and has grown to 100 majors in just six years. In 2006, Pace became only the second school in New York City to offer a BFA in Musical Theater. The Pace New Musicals Program was developed in 2007 to nurture the creation of new musical theater in New York City, while at the same time providing an invaluable educational opportunity for students to work directly with top professionals in the field. Perhaps most importantly, the program allows students to experiment with new, untested works without precedent-setting productions, a rare opportunity in theater education.

It Ain't Black Box Theater But 22Leroy Will Do Just Fine For This Week's Review

Although we should be doing Black Box Theater NYC today, we caught the 22Leroy band in the East Village Monday night at Fontana’s Bar with Wes Shippee on keyboard/lead vocals and we just had to share the experience with you. 22Leroy self describes their genre as Rock-Pop-Alternative and we agree adding only very cool and rocking the clean cut.
While our assessment of “clean cut” could be the death of many bands playing bars in the Village, their high energy and high spirited style was surprisingly refreshing. You could actually feel safe letting your seventeen year old daughter see the show; I know this for a fact since my kid came along with me to check them out.

Not to be misleading, I must say the women over 21 did all they could to deflower the group’s innocents with alcohol induced shouts of “ I’ll love you” and “take your shirt for me please”, but they held their composure and simply let the music answer their fans request.

Hey you already know who we are, we're those same folks at RetroVision Media that does a lot of the local indie and black box theater reviews in lower Manhattan NYC and beyond.

This is just a short note to let our regular visitors know this will be our temporary home until we can kick the crap out of some hackers that has been jerking around with our servers.

We got too much going on to close shop completely so just drop by here until further notice.

Oh BTW, the hottest comedy on the black box stage this week is closing this weekend and we think you'd be wise to check it out: The Dysfunctional Theater Company's Production of Arsenic and Old Lace.

You can catch the show at the Kraine Theater located @ 85 E. 4th Street between 2nd and Bowery in the East Village. Tickets for the performance are a meager $18.00, with a $15.00 price for seniors.

About the play; in all honesty, I generally try to avoid picking out standouts in productions, because in all successful theater, it takes the entire team of the cast, the director, the staging people, the lighting and audio crews and of course the producer and writer to pull off a great show. But that being said, Ron Bobst and Rob Brown are two of the funniest men on the planet; well at least they were last Saturday evening. These two comedic artist had the timing of the Marx Bros., the slap shtick style of the stooges with the vaudevillian flow of an Abbott and Costello. With Eric Chase, an obvious mad man directing, you got one of the best performances of this time-tested classic ever produced.

Oh yeah, one more BTW; our weekly video podcast of Black Box Theater NYC starts streaming online in two weeks.
